STIR Charlotte: Overlooked and Overbooked.

Recently I was in the mood for seafood, so I went on a dive for places in the city that would give me a menu filled with savory dishes that contained seafood options. I also realized that the definition of seafood for me meant any meal containing some sort of fish or something from the ocean. Lol, I know right... I quickly learned that there are many definitions of seafood, and because I'm a girl from Tennessee that had little to no exposure to seafood - my definition of seafood is not necessarily the best. With all of that being said, I desired a new place with with seafood options, so we landed at STIR Charlotte.
We received a text from STIR indicating that our table was ready, and my excitement began to build. The restaurant was full of people, which is usually a good sign for me because who wants to go to a place if no one else wants it. We walked in and were seated at a table. We weren't greeted by a waiter right away, but my first thought was hmmm well they are busy tonight. After a 10 more minutes passed, we eventually were greeted and received a bottle of water for the table. The waiter informed us that she wasn't actually our waiter, but that our waiter would come soon. Luckily, there was a QR code for the menu placed at the center of the table, so we could look at the menu while we waited.
"We were overlooked, and they were overbooked."
10 more minutes passed, then 10 more, and of course at this point I'm getting a little stir crazy and irritated. Finally, we were able to flag down a waiter, and asked if we could have some assistance. He informed us that he would get our waiter. So more waiting came. Then, a man came to the table (I'm guessing he was the Manager), and he brought another bottle of water for the table. He appeared to be pleasant, but at this point we had been waiting a very long time. Of course we already had our menu items to order, so we put our order in with him. We both ordered the Crab Bisque, Shrimp and Scallop Mac & Cheese, and I ordered the Wedge Salad. We received the Crab Bisque, and it was delicious! Probably the best Crab Bisque I've ever had. As we were eating the Bisque, our waiter finally came over. She informed us that she has a large party that she's working on, and that she's sorry. Of course, we're understanding but come on Girl... It had been almost an hour, and she hadn't come to or table at all. I believe that she was trying to play catch up, but she spent most of her time at our table being awkward and making terrible jokes. "Oh, you want more sauce well that will be $50." Of course at this point, I'm giving her the side eye and trying to spare her feelings, but I was over it at that point.

So, with all of that being said STIR was clearly overbooked, and we were overlooked. Do I think the wait was worth it, no. Not at all. Is the Crab Bisque delicious? Yes! It was great, but not worth the bad experience. I will add that the waitress felt that she should comp the Crab Bisque from our ticket, but honestly that didn't really help. If you are going to STIR, pack your patience in your purse because you'll need it.
